In some cases, it may be necessary to remove the sand from Oasis Mini. This may be due to the need to transport or ship your Mini, repairs, or because you want to experiment with other types of Media. This technique is the easiest way we've found to clean the sand out of your Oasis Mini with minimal mess. 

In short, you should use the sand rake that's included with Oasis Mini as well as another flexible similarly sized object like a credit card or business card. Use the flat side of the rake to form a pile of sand in the center, and then scoop it onto a business card as if you were using a dust pan and broom. Pour the sand into a small bowl, and you're good to go! It helps to put down a small paper towel below your bowl in case you spill a bit.

Sometimes there will be residual sand on the rubber or stuck to the sides of the LED ring. In these cases, a vacuum or paper towel can be helpful. If it's especially stuck, you can use a slightly damp paper towel on the white rubber and the milky white ring surrounding it. Never use running water, and do not let water contact the black ring above the sand. If you do use a damp rag, allow the Oasis Mini to dry with the cover off for at least 24 hours before adding back sand. Check to make sure it's fully dry before adding new sand.
